Manager-Finance & Compliance

Main role:

Responsible for preparing and maintaining the financial accounts, financial controls, MIS and budgeting process of the Bank and complying with the various regulations of CBK.

Principal accountabilities:

§  Responsible for the timely and accurate reporting of all financial data and reports required by the top management for review of the Bank’s financial position. This includes the monthly management accounts and the quarterly financial statements and other financial information for the annual report.

§  Directs the preparation of the returns and reports as required by law and the regulatory framework including CBK and ensures timely and accurate reporting. Acts as the focal point for all-external financial reporting.

§  Co-ordinates the financial planning process including finalisation of budgets in co-ordination with Departmental Heads and the management. Sets the measurement tools to effectively manage the various operations of the Bank.

§  Responsible for the maintenance of the General Ledger and other books of Accounts. Periodically reviews the P&L and the GL and the nostro accounts reconciliation, inter-branch accounts and the CBK accounts

§  Continually reviews and reports the Bank’s financial performance as compared to budgets.

§  Actively participates in the Asset-Liability management of the Bank and provides various reports and recommends strategies.

§  Co-ordinates with external auditors for timely completion of audit and serves as the focal point for providing information as required.

Personnel Specifications:

§  Professional qualifications in Finance/ Accounts / equivalent.

§  Should have experience of around seven years in managing the entire spectrum of finance and accounting functions in a banking environment.

§  Knowledge of banking regulations pertaining to accounting, auditing and regulatory reporting.

§  Strong analytical, quantitative, problem solving skills.

§  Good communication and presentation skills
