Although the not having formal man-management/supervisory accountability over any Marafiq employees, the jobholder is required to supervise the activities of a team of external contractor staff on a 3 shift basis, 24 hours per day and 7 days per week. The jobholder is the first point of contact for the contractor in the reporting of any sea water cooling operational issues.

In addition, the jobholder oversees all maintenance activities relevant to sea water cooling plant and equipment although formally these are reported through the Maintenance Services department.

The jobholder makes recommendations as to how plant capacity and efficiency may be optimised as a component of the annual capital plan.
