Job Description

The Role

-          Appraise permanent records and historically valuable documents.

-          Safekeeping of archival documents and materials

-          Prepare document descriptions and reference aids for use of archives, such as accession lists, indexes, guides, bibliographies, abstracts, and other storage technology

-          File and cross-indexing of selected documents in alphabetical and chronological order, and according to binomial classification system (scientific naming) of animals and plants.

-          Supplies available materials and information according to requests by stakeholders.

-          Requests or recommends pertinent materials available in libraries, private collections, or other archives.

The Person

-          B.A. Library & Information Science or equivalent

-          3 to 5 years relevant experience

-          Fluency in English & Arabic

-          Professional level knowledge of binomial classification system, SML and digital referencing tools.
