Job Description

SUMMARY

 

The primary function of this position is to effectively anticipate, evaluate, and resolve critical issues that could affect the expected outcome of day-to-day Dispatch related issues. The essential duties for the Tactical Manager include: Department Staffing, Workload Management, Employee Reviews, Employee Development, Internal and External Communication/Coordination, Problem resolution. This person will also be expected to adhere to NetJets’ Vision, Mission, and Values. The Dispatch Tactical Manager will utilize their Flight Center knowledge to provide superior support and service to our Owners, Flight Crews and the Company, as well as share the benefits of their knowledge and experience with Flight Center Associates in a day to day mentoring fashion. 

 

 

KEY ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

Communicator / Relationship Builder

(Related NJ Competency: Communication, Partnering and Teaming, Customer Focus)

  • Communicates & Coordinates Requests

·         Proactively seek potential operational issues

·         Communicate & Coordinate issue resolution

·         Actively Review Case Management Documentation

·         Coach/Mentor Dispatch & Trip Planning Team

·         Actively assist Dispatch & Trip Planning associates with workload and operational considerations as necessary.

·         Tactical Managers will be required to utilize their knowledge and experience to provide superior service to our customers (internal and external) as well as share this knowledge and experience with associates in a mentoring fashion.

·         Tactical Managers may be expected to conduct Owner, Pilot, and miscellaneous tours as needed.

·         Resolves situations on own, and advises Vice President & Director of Operations of the resolution.  Will assist other members of the team in problem resolution and documentation process.

·         Perform annual employee reviews, individual development plans and disciplinary plans and actions

  • Proactively identifies potential pitfall and makes decisions and develops solutions that adhere to NetJets’ Vision, Mission, and Values.

·         Evaluate and recommend changes for cost savings initiatives.

·         Resolves most situations independently and will involve Flight Center Leadership as necessary.

·         Will assume Vice President Responsibilities if assigned.

·         Expected to be a mentor of all Dispatch & Trip Planner Associates.

·         Will be assigned additional duties and projects as needed by Vice President, Flight Center

·         Maintains a positive perspective on aspects of the job and company while on duty.

·         Assists Vice President & D.O. on various committees for project management.

  • Must be available to work a flexible schedule to include evenings, weekends, and holidays.

  • Must make decisions that do not compromise safety while understanding the internal and external customer needs.
  • Must be able to assume responsibility when the Vice President, Flight Center is not present or as directed

QUALIFICATIONS

 

The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

  • Must be able to maintain a calm outward appearance and remain approachable.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, and governmental regulations.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.

·         Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

 

 

  • Specific Knowledge: Complete understanding of capabilities of all aircraft including:

·         Aircraft Specific Performance limitations (Temperature, wind, range limitations, and runway limitations…Wet, Dry and Part 135)

·         Thorough understanding and application of all FAA regulatory requirements.

·         Advanced understanding of MS Office products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio)

 

 

·         General Knowledge:  Understanding of aviation operations including

·         Crew requirements (GOM, Dispatch & ground Services SOP’s as well as all Related FAR’s)

·         Seating capacity of each aircraft type

·         Baggage limitations (including skis and golf bags)

·         International Operations (Customs/Immigration requirements)

·         Interdepartmental Communications

·         Understanding of NetJets Operations as a whole

·         Basic Dispatching & Jeppesen Flight Planning Tools

·         Has developed an extensive understanding of Ground Services & Dispatch and how it relates to the Flight Center and Company mission.                                                                                                                     

 

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE

 

·         B.S. / B.A. in Business or Aviation related degree is preferred.

·         Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

·         Sound foundation in leadership skills, teamwork approach, communicative and interpersonal skills essential.

·         Minimum 7 years experience in business aviation management or equivalent experience preferred.

·         Excellent Proficiency in CFMU & AFTN Applications.

·         Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Products.
