Abu Dhabi Gas Industries Ltd (GASCO) is the operating company responsible for the processing of natural and associated gas from onshore oil operations in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi.
GASCO was incorporated in 1978 and established as a joint venture between Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC), with a 68 per cent shareholding, Shell and Total, each with a 15 per cent shareholding, and Partex, with the remaining two per cent shareholding. GASCO has become not only one of the biggest industrial complexes in the UAE but is one of the largest gas processing companies in the world.
Job Description
The position is responsible
- To ensure that the developments of all engineering design in regard to area of work are at optimum levels, standardized and compatible and to ensure that a state of the art technology is applied in the selection of equipment and material while participating in all phases of projects.
- Develop and ensure that high class engineering specifications, standards and procedures are developed, maintained and implemented by Consultant/ Contractors in all phases of projects with the objective to deliver to End users a safe, reliable, operable and maintainable facility.
- Frequent contacts at senior professional level internally and up to Vice Presidents within projects group to obtain approvals and for coordinating matters related to various projects.
- Frequent contacts at senior professional level up to Department Head level with other Company’s Departments outside Projects Group for provisions of interface technical support.
- Regular contacts with Consultants, Contractors, Vendors and managements for coordination of projects Engineering works and to keep abreast of development in the field of Engineering Development of Projects related work.

To ensure Process Containment by verifying that Inspection activities and their frequencies are adequate to ensure that risk of failure is acceptable.

To ensure the Ignition Control of ignition sources like electrical enclosures, instrument junction boxes, light fittings, etc that they are inspected and maintained to the appropriate standards. Ensure that other potential Ignition sources like hot surfaces by failed insulation and vehicle exhaust systems are identified and controlled.

To ensure Integrity of Protection Systems for process trips, pressure relief devices (safety relief valves, bursting discs) are periodically tested and verified that are able to fulfill their intended function when required.

To ensure that Detection Systems like fire and gas detection, smoke detection, UV detection, fusible plugs, etc. are frequently tested to verify their intended functionality.

To ensure that Shutdown Systems like Pressurized Shutdown (PSD) and Emergency Shutdown (ESD) loops are frequently tested to verify their intended functionality.

To ensure Mechanical Integrity by verifying that plant equipment operates within design envelope/parameters and controls like documented routine inspections, Testing and Preventive Maintenance are being done on time and recorded in CMMS, tests, repairs, and preventive maintenance activity, and base scheduling are on historical experience.

To ensure that QA/QC measures are in place for ordering, receiving, storage, dispatching, and installation of maintenance materials and supplies, Controls are in place against installation of wrong parts, bypassing critical controls, and other maintenance errors that can result in serious accidents or incidents.

To ensure that Management Of Change procedure is strictly being followed and all changes are evaluated and approved prior to the changes taking place.

To participate in Root Cause Analysis to examine the management system of controls that should be in place to prevent operational or equipment deviations from occurring.

To carry out AUDITS as per AIRMS Framework.
